Features of Hike-and-Bike Maps
Hike-and-Bike maps are specifically designed for outdoor activities and recreational navigation. Based on up-to-date OpenStreetMap (OSM) data, they are ideal for hikers, cyclists, mountain bikers, bikepackers, travelers, tourists, and anyone using a Garmin GPS device or Garmin BaseCamp.
The maps offer excellent contrast, clearly distinguish different road types and trails, and provide a clean, easy-to-read layout. Subtle contour lines and hill shading improve terrain visualization, making route planning and navigation easier in both urban and remote areas.
All maps support turn-by-turn routing and can be used on compatible Garmin GPS devices as well as in Garmin BaseCamp. They also include a wide range of Points of Interest (POIs), such as restaurants, hotels, campsites, viewpoints, railway stations, fuel stations, and many other useful locations.
The maps are regularly updated using the latest OpenStreetMap data. Scheduled updates are released four times a year, at the beginning of January, April, July, and October.

Where can you find the most beautiful hikes in Brazil?
Brazil is home to some stunning landscapes, offering a variety of breathtaking hikes across its vast and diverse geography. From tropical rainforests to mountain ranges, there are numerous hiking destinations for nature lovers.
- Chapada Diamantina National Park (Bahia): Known for its dramatic plateaus, waterfalls, caves, and canyons, Chapada Diamantina is often referred to as a hiker’s paradise. The park offers diverse trails, ranging from easy day hikes to challenging multi-day treks. Fumaça Waterfall: One of the tallest waterfalls in Brazil, cascading 340 meters. The hike offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and takes about 6 hours round-trip. Vale do Pati: This is a multi-day trek (3-5 days) through lush valleys, rivers, and caves, considered one of the most beautiful long-distance hikes in Brazil.
- Pico da Bandeira (Espírito Santo/Minas Gerais): Pico da Bandeira is the third-highest mountain in Brazil, located in the Caparaó National Park on the border between the states of Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais. The views from the summit at 2,892 meters are breathtaking, and on clear days, you can see for miles in all directions. The trek to the summit can be done from either side of the park, with the Minas Gerais route being more popular. The hike takes around 6 to 8 hours round-trip, and many hikers start in the early hours to catch the sunrise from the peak.
- Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (Maranhão): Known for its surreal landscape of vast white sand dunes interspersed with turquoise lagoons, Lençóis Maranhenses offers a one-of-a-kind hiking experience. The lagoons fill up during the rainy season (June to September), creating a magical desert-oasis environment. The trek through the dunes to Lagoa Bonita is a popular day hike, but for a more immersive experience, a multi-day trek from Santo Amaro to Atins will take you deeper into this otherworldly environment.
